I shot The Hepworth on the 3rd of February just after 3pm, this is the third image in my Architectural Challenge Series.
Suggested by Mike Howden of Frame Conservation, I got the feeling Mike isn't to smitten with this building. At least he was happy with the image, I'm ignoring the cheeky comment at the end!
"Simple yet complex, many angles and facets, one vanishing point. Good job Mr Wilmot - you should do this for a living." Mike Howden
Working with the late afternoon winter sun, casting a long shadow across the walk way combined with a nearly clear sky keeping the shadow unbroken allowed me to get low to the ground and keep the shadow edge nearly horizontal, using it, along with the solid sides of the bridge, to lead the viewer's eye towards the gallery which was crisply focussed. The low sun enhancing the light and shadow on the different facades of the angular building.
